Sally is finally getting her happily ever after.kind of. Long Live the Pumpkin Queen starts at Jack and Sally's wedding, nearly a year after the events of the movie. And there isn't much dialogue from the characters we already know because of plot purposes. There were times when I had to stop, because what was written didn't quite feel like how the character would say it. I could easily read the dialogue in each character's voice, but that says more about how many times I've seen the movie rather than her actual writing. I do think the author did a fairly good job of introducing the characters and mostly writing the way they would talk. When I started reading Long Live the Pumpkin Queen, I was still in that excited phase, wanting to know where this story was going. Obviously, I want more of Halloween Town and its kooky residents. Obviously, being such a huge TNBC fan, I've wondered what happened to Jack and Sally after the events of the movie. But Long Live the Pumpkin Queen just can't compare to the original. The Nightmare Before Christmas is my second favorite movie of ALL TIME, so there was also no way I couldn't read this one. I had a very strong feeling that I wasn't going to like this book. The risen a novel of spartacus5/24/2023 In this thrilling and panoramic historical novel we see one of the most storied uprisings of classical times from multiple points of view: Spartacus, the visionary captive and gladiator whose toughness and charisma turn a prison break into a multi-cultural revolt that threatens an empire his consort, the oracular Astera, whose connection to the spirit world and its omens guides the uprising's progress Nonus, a Roman soldier working both sides of the conflict in a half-adroit, half-desperate attempt to save his life Laelia and Hustus, two shepherd children drawn into the ranks of the slave rebellion Kaleb, the slave secretary to Crassus, the Roman senator and commander saddled with the unenviable task of quashing an insurrection of mere slaves and other players in a vast spectacle of bloodshed, heroism, and treachery. From the author of the widely praised Pride of Carthage, the superb fictional rendering of Hannibal's epic military campaigns against Carthage's archenemy Rome, comes the perfect follow-up: an equally superb novel of the legendary gladiator Spartacus and the vast slave revolt he led that came ever so close to bringing Rome, with its supposedly invincible legions, to its knees. Dr bj fogg5/24/2023 Taken together I refer to my models and methods as " Behavior Design. With this cornerstone model in place, I was then able to create other models about behavior, as well as effective methods for design. On the other hand, you'll find this model applies to all types of behavior, in all cultures, for people at any age. On one hand, you can learn to think about behavior in this way in two minutes. Here's the simplest way to explain it: "Behavior (B) happens when Motivation (M), Ability (A), and a Prompt (P) come together at the same moment." In written form, my model looks like this: At the time of discovery I was delighted, but I didn't fully grasp the power and potential of this thing I called the "Fogg Behavior Model." After this, Link can participate in a horse race hurdle mini-game. Link eventually beats Ingo in a horse race, and he returns to "normal". Later, when Link returns after having been sealed inside the Temple of Time for seven years, he discovers that the ranch has been taken over by Ingo, and Malon is being forced to work at the ranch, lest Ingo punish the horses. When he plays this, the usually shy horse Epona rushes to Link. Malon can later teach Link "Epona's Song" on the Ocarina. Fearing Malon's rage, Talon flees back to the ranch to apologize. Link eventually finds Malon's father sleeping near Hyrule Castle. He is given the Weird Egg, which hatches into a Cucco. One of Poe’s most popular detective stories is “The Purloined Letter.” Originally published in The Gift: A Christmas and New Year’s Present for 1844, an annual magazine, the story was reproduced in Poe’s Tales by Edgar A. Although he is primarily known for his horror stories, Poe also wrote a series of what he called, “tales of ratiocination,” which helped define the conventions used in Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes detective stories, and which helped influence the development of the modern mystery. Modern mystery writers owe a debt of gratitude to Edgar Allan Poe.
